Young has reacted on X after Everton were drawn against Peterborough United in the third round of the FA Cup. His son, Tyler, signed for the club in the summer after a successful trial. He has gone on to make one appearance, in the EFL Trophy, but could now come up against his dad.

Young Sr is 39 and is winding down his career, although he has played 13 games for Sean Dyche's side this season. He is, of course, a deeply experienced professional, and he won the FA Cup in 2016 while he was playing at Manchester United.
